First Picasa blog

I have lots of digital pictures, and most of them are online in some way. Some are on Flickr, some are on Zooomr, some are on Photobucket. Free Flickr has a 200 photo limit, Zooomr is still upgrading and re-enabling features, so I don't want to upload lots of photos yet. I have a main, travel-oriented-but-not-all-the-time blog where I only link to the photos instead of including them next to the text. Here with the Picasa blog, I'm giving it a go to see if a blog entry with an accompanying photo looks good. I downloaded Picasa a while ago to act simply as a photo album for when someone wanted to see some of the photos on the hard drive. That isn't used that often, because I can simply direct them to the same photo online at one of the aforementioned photo sharing websites.

This photo was taken on my first full day in Melbourne. Across the intersection is Federation Square, a mere one block from the backpacker's hostel I stayed in. While I was setting up the shot, a girl walked right across the frame and stopped at the curb, waiting for the red light to change. I zoomed back out, panned across, and took the image you see to the right. I particularly like the empty intersection, such that the random girl in the foreground stands out a bit, with the former object of interest (Federation Square), takes up the background.
